Hello all
I recently purchased a M47 super made by hesse. It is a very good looking rifle and a great shooter, eary to handle and very light weight, it shoots 7.62x39 round and very acurate now!
when I first received rifle the rear sight was rusted and finish was poor. the rifle is a converted Saiga. it has valmet style sights. the front sight/gas block assembly had no finish as the rear. the rest of the rifle seamed ok. so I refinished the metal parts and took it out to shoot. Oh no, upon pulling my ak out of my case the front sight post broke off. It was plastic. I have never seen such a thing. shot it any way from the hip. put 120 rounds through it. No missfire or jamming. It felt very good, for being such a shorty it has less kick than my SKS. The M-16 style muzzle brake must work ok. went home and ordered new steel front sight post and extra mags. from cnnd or something in texas. sight post was ok the four mags were supposes to be new, two were and two were not
and they were green. any way installed new post and loaded up mags. went to shoot, could not sight in, with windage ajusted all the way to the right it still shoots left. elevation ajusted ok. took rifle home and disassembled to inspect, found the front sight /gas block assembly very poorly made and it was not properly aligned.
ground off weld, Knocked out two pins, straightened rewelded and redrilled and installed new oversized pins. took to shoot and sight in. all right it sighted in 2 inch group from kneeling position at 100 meters. I now love my ak its my first. have put about 1200 rounds through it and no malfunctions and a great shooter. Was it worth the 399.00 I spent on it, I think so, but it was a lot of work and angst. I have never purchased a supposite new rifle and I dont think I will again. I will just by used and expect to refurbish as I always have. FYI.
