It's actually more like an anecdote.
I took the new kid K-31 into the woods on Friday, and with the homemade stock extender, the action came into its own. Not having to lift your head from the stock to avoid the striker makes a big difference.
Due to the closeness of the shooting area (75 - 80 yds tops), everything was coming in low, but the windage was dead on which took care of my primary concern.
-------------------
We all know where the spent brass goes when you cycle the action, right?
I wanted to see how fast I could get off accurate shots now that I'm able to keep my cheek-weld and cycle the action. Well, I was cycling the action so -- er -- positively, that the casings were taking off like rockets. So I fire/cycle the action/get back on target/fire, and just as I have pulled the action to the rear from the second shot, the shell casing from the first shot tags me on the top of my head.
As I look up from the rifle with the, "WTF?/ Dammit!" look on my face, the second shell casing pops the top of my head.
-------------------
A couple of those GP-11 rounds seemed to have a weaker propellant charge in them -- less recoil, with a subdued report.
Has anyone else noticed an occasional weakling GP-11?
