Gun Scrubber gun cleaner

I have a SA-93 the the arisol cleaner called Gun scrub is eating the finish on my bolt carrier and bolt. turns it sticky when applied anyone else have this problem?

Yeah, did the same to one of my SLR-95s. Now I'm more careful using gun scrubber so as to preserve the finish. Sigh...

It's probably the same finish as my sa-93 which is paint http://www.ak-47.net/akcgi/frown.gif I may at some point have the moly treatment or parkenized. Brownell has some bake-on stuff that looks pretty good.

I have always used gun scrubber on my Pre-Bans and it has never done any damage to the finish or the bolt or the carrier.

Yours were probably blued, the finish on these 93s 95s and 99s apear to be paint over a bead blasted receiver and parts.

Try CLP to clean your rifle then rinse it out with brake parts cleaner. It never harmed the finish on my SLR95.

Is clp good to clean the bore ?

It is what the US military uses to clean, lubrecate,protect every thing from small arms to artillery.
C= cleaner
L= luberacant
P= Preservative
It cleans just like a bore cleaner has teflon to lube and oil to protect the finish of your gun. I use it on all my guns.

I 2nd J.A.'s comments about CLP. I use it for scrubbing and cleaning and then (becuase I'm lazy) use Gun Scrub to flush out the barrel.

K-mart sells a product called Nito-CLP,possibly by Remmington , 8oz pump bottle for $6.95. Would this be the same stuff?

Don't know but the commerical version of the military surplus CLP is the "Breakfree" brand.

Thanks for the feed back guys. I like the way the Gun scrub flushes out the powder residue in the chamber. I'll give the other stuff a try also
