Stock removal

I need to remove the stock on my Romanian sporter. I've got all the screws, etc. off, but that sucker is still on tight.

Does the buttstock slide back or down for removal?

Did you get the one inside the receiver? If so it goes back and will take the use of a rubber mallet. Had to whop the hell out of mine.
