Put the forster Field Gauge in. Attempted to close the bolt. Bolt will go forward, and you can start to close it but it will not close on it. Is this a pass Go and collect $200? or am I in limbo land?

1. He is the guru of headspace. I think that what you described is alright but I would check with him to make sure.
It's not a "pass Go", but it is a "pass Field". Any resistance at all is a pass...

The way a gauge is used is . . . . if the bolt with mild finger pressure does not close on the gauge then you pass. In your case you pass Field so your chamber headspace is at least a No Go fit. You'll have to use the No Go to see if it closes on it.
No Go is safe to shoot, though not optimum.
