I'm using a quality C-clamp that works well on my SKS but I just can't get the front sight to budge while trying to adjust the windage on my NIB Polytech Legend. Granted, the guns been in the styreen for more than 10 years but there should be _some_ movement.

Any suggestions short of banging the plug with a ball peen hammer?

Brass punch and ball peen hammer. Once you get it tomove you should be able to use the tool.

OK...I'll give that a try.

Thanks!

An SKS sight tool is NOT the same as an AK sight tool. I've seen some advertised as for both, but most are not.

Are you saying the tool I have (which I bought at a gun show and _was_ sold as AK/SKS - though I know that could be meaningless) might work on the windage easily on a Russian SKS yet might not fit the windage post on a Chinese AK?

You should be able to see for yourself if it will work simply by fitting it on. European military do not use these c-clamps, they use a drift punch, that only armorers will use when the rifle is first zeroed or after major maintenance, or when a soldier complains of lack of accuracy. I don't know what the Chinese use.

That's why I was a bit confused. The clamp's holes seem to fit perfectly over the slightly exposed bolt. Of course, it _could_ be too tight, but it seems fine. I'm sure it just needs a good "whack".

Happy Thanksgiving!
