I have my grandfathers.Its of the same style as the one pictured but it is real.Nope it will NEVER be for sale.He was awarded it in 1938 for his service in the SS before being posted to 2nd SS Panzer Division "Das Reich".The replicas are very POOR copies and I could spot them a mile away.The replicas are garbage.Most of the replicas dont even have the correct inscription on the blades.The correct inscriptions for these is "Meine Ehre Heist Treue " or "My honor Is Loyalty" on the SS blades and on Hitler youth blades it was " Blut und Ehre" or "Blood And Honor".Most the time they are inscribed with the holders name,rank,and year it was awarded.

Oh ya.Daggers,swords,Even Tanks.3rd SS Panzer Div was called "Totenkopf" and the division marking was the SS Deaths Head.This is the Div most the camp guards belonged to,But the 3rd Div also had an extensive combat record.

By the way "Totenkopf" or Deathshead goes way back in German military history.It was used in WW1 on many Planes and Tanks.The tankers of the german army still wear it on their caps and field jackets.It even goes as far back as the Germanic times when the Germanic Warriors would wear the skulls of fallen Roman soldiers as trophies and to scare the hell out of Ceasar and his evil minions in battle.

Nice AKW, but most guys don't have a relative that was in the SS ;) and a replica is all we can afford.

My father still has the ones my grandfather brought home, they are real nice, not sure what they are worth though. They aren't the same as shown above ( not SS ). Cant wait til the day comes for me to take posession of them. Nice piece of history.

I would like to find a gravity knife that the German airborne used. the cheapest one ive found was $500.00

You say the repos aren't even close . . . that's good! It makes it easy to tell the real from the repo. Exact copies would just get a lot of people ripped off.
