MAS 49/56 on the way!!!

Well today was great,

Seeing as though my first kid is on the way I now have a new holiday to celebrate.:D Today my wife got me a few presents.Sine IM a big time model builder she bought me Pappy Boyingtons 1/48 scale F4U Corsair.I got an Ice tea maker and a pair of little camoflage boots for my unborn son.:D She then told me she ordered a MAS 49/56 for me from SOG with all the acessories and its due in sometime this coming week!:DOk yes I dont like SOG but what the hell,I didnt order it and these are all arsenal refinished and pretty much mint so I dont think SOG can screw this order up.We will see and Ill post a report.You guys here that have recieved a Mas 49 from SOG please sound off.

I plan on getting 2 of the Mas 49/56 soon :D My decision to get into reloading made the decision for me:cool:

For what its worth , I've heard they work best with the French milsurp ammo , not the Indep stuff

I received a MAS 49/56 from sog and the thing looks Brand new.I had to send one of them back because it would not load correctly and got this one. when I say it looks new I mean no dings on the wood and no scrapes on the metal either.if you have not shot one before they are a fun rifle to shoot.it has a good recoil but if you put on the but pad you'll have to problem.

Man AKWarrior!!! First models now this, we have so much in common its wierd. I just ordered a 49/56 for myself Friday. (insert eerie Twilight Zone Music here).

Let us know how it is when it arrives...

Also, the 1/48 Corsair, is it a diecast or a kit?

The Corsair is the Academy 1/48 kit.I dont buy or ask for anything I cant build myself.I really like this kit as it has decals for boyingtons aircraft and 2 others.I think Ill get a cockpit detail set for it.It will go in the closet for now.I have too many projects in progress.As for the Mas rifles yes I have shot both the 36 and 49.I just been procrastinating in getting them so my wife beat me to it.:DI bought 3 boxes of ammo for her local.I wont be shooting this very often.Maybe one mag every time I take it to the range.Considering my range is 5 minutes up the hill it would get expensive to shoot.I think Ill buy a reloading se for it.Ill get some 7.5 brass and you can use 308 bullets so it should be a lot cheaper to reload then buy ammo.Somthing to experiment with.By the way I got my CZ50 from Century on Friday.Its a superb little shooter and it came with holster!I was really surprised!
