Ok, in order to practice for the match, I finally went out to the range today and did some practice. I figured why not take one of the MAS36 u-fix-em with me.
I took MAS36 #2, the one missing the Magazine assembly, bolt components and rear sight slide. Since I hadn't started taking this one apart yet, I could use her in a single round mode. I borrowed the missing parts from MAS #1 and off I went. I had some Egyptian surplus and the Indep stuff from SOG. I was more worried about getting splinters. She shot fine, groupings were consistent within the 9 and 10 ring. The Indep stuff went all over the place! The only nice thing about it, is that I can reload this brass.
The M39 is definately a winner. This will be my weapon of choice for the match. I use surplus ammo from Hungry. Once I got the sights adjusted, I was conisitently within the 9 and 10 ring. I know she can do better. Just gotta get use to the iron sights.
All in all it was an interesting and fun evening. The MAS was a interesting gun and I think I will buy a couple more.
