Those of you that receive test buffers for the MAC-11 please post your comments or suggestions in this thread.

I'd like to see TSMG buffer. The original fiber ones seem to be in short supply.
A few people were looking for them on the Bower's board last week.

Randy,
Here are the results of the testing which I performed on the buffers.
Test conditions were as follows:
Clear and sunny with a temperature range of 90 - 95 degrees F.
Firearm: SWD M-11 / 9 mm , totally factory without modifications , shoulder stock was extended for all testing purposes, only Cobray magazines were utilized for testing purposes.
Ammunition utilized was Winchester 115 grain , white box , target load ammo. All ammo was kept shaded until loaded. A total of 900 rounds was expended.
To establish a baseline one magazine of 30 rounds was expended utilizing the factory buffer prior to each BlackJack buffer being tested.
A total of 120 rounds of ammo was expended in both semi , FA bursts and with the last magazine of each buffer being a FA "Dump of 30 rounds" after which the firearm was disassembled and allowed to cool before the next buffer was tested.
Buffers were coded as 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, 3A, and 3C respectively.
Each buffer was checked for Fit, Function, Rate of fire as compared to the factory buffer (estimated), Wear, and Reliability, and Felt recoil.
These are my findings of each:
1A:( Clear buffer )
Fit was a little snug around the recoil spring otherwise pin locations and outer dimensions were perfect. Function was extremely well . Rate of fire was par with factory buffer. Wear was negligible. Reliability was excellent. Overall it was about equivalent to the factory buffer as no discernable difference was noticed other than the cutout for the recoil spring being a bit snug. Felt recoil was slightly less than with factory buffer.
1B:( Clear buffer )
Fit was perfect ( actually better than 1A )! Function was perfect. Rate of fire was par with factory buffer. Wear was negligible if not slightly less than 1A. Reliability was excellent although I did experience one stoppage due to magazine malfunction.Felt recoil was slightly less than with factory buffer.
2A: ( Green Buffer )
Fit was good although ejector rod hole is somewhat tight. Function is excellent. Rate of fire is noticeably increased somewhat . Wear was negligible. Reliability was excellent ( no stoppages ) . Felt recoil was slightly less than with factory buffer or 1A/B.
2B: ( Green Buffer )
Fit was excellent with no tightness of ejector rod hole or binding of recoil spring. Function was excellent. Rate of fire was as 2A , being noticeably increased somewhat. Wear was negligible. Reliability was excellent with no stoppages of any kind. Felt recoil was as 2A being slightly less than with factory buffer or 1A/B.
3A: ( Red Buffer )
Fit was excellent although ejector holes were extremely snug. Function was excellent with no stoppages of any kind. Rate of fire was noticeably increased over all previous buffers tested . Wear was negligible. Reliability was excellent with no stoppages of any kind. Felt recoil was somewhat increased ( ever so slightly) over previous buffers , although not uncomfortably so.
3B: ( red Buffer )
Fit was excellent ( even better than 3A ). Function was excellent with no stoppages of any kind. Rate of fire was noticeably increased as in 3A. Wear was negligible. Reliability was excellent with no stoppages of any kind. Felt recoil was as 3A being somewhat increased ( ever so slightly although not uncomfortably so ).
Overall I preferred the "B" buffers as the cutout for the recoil spring was slightly larger making installation easier. Of all buffers tested I liked 3B the best as it showed the least wear and the rate of fire was increased over the others and the ejector rod hole seemed to bind less than those marked 2A/B or 3A .
I hope this provides some useable data for you to utilize . I enjoyed doing the test as it proved interesting enough although some folks who asked to shoot it were disappointed that I wouldn't interrupt / corrupt the test results by not letting them partake in the shooting experience . This test was conducted over a three hour period with my wife assisting me by recording data , loading magazines, and policing up the brass. I couldn't have done it in so short a time without her assistance.
The tested buffers are being returned to you for your evaluation of wear etc. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to perform the tests .
