I was wondering if y'all could explain what the disc on the stock means. What do the numbers signify? I know that one set of numbers relates to the bore, but in what way? Does a "1" mean they measured the bore and there is 5% erosion or something?
Thanks for your response. This will help me and others in our collecting. I'm planning on buying a few Swedes from Samco. I hope they have some good ones left.

The disc is about bore and throat condtions of the barrel. The 1, 2, 3 section grades the throat errosion condition. The bigger the number the worse off the barrel is. The other numbers are about the bore dimensions in a plus or minus reference to nominal. Don't have a disc / rifle handy right now but that's the general meaning of it.
Also another bit of trivia for the Swed rifle is about the crown stamps behind the trigger guard on the wrist of the stock. Each time the rifle went through a main arsenal and was inspected or rebuilt the stock got a crown stamp put on it. I've seen up to 6 of these on a weapon or as few as one.

Thanks for the welcome. I am not a great poster but read several forums every day.
If I have anything that will help out, such as the above links, I will be happy to pass them along.
Take Care,
Frank
