Well, here she is.

She is just about perfect. The wood is beautiful and the blueing isn't bad. Bore is sharp.

Just a couple minor thing to pick about, but overall, I'm very happy with this new acquisition.

It look like a messy soldering job. Is this normal?

The washer that keeps the band from binding onto the swivel is missing. The screwhead has some damage from the wrong screwdrive being used.

LPS,

It's a 1916 Spanish? Man, for one that old to be in that great a condition, I'd do a tap dance!! LOL Beautiful! It's about the same size as a M-48 Mauser, isn't it? I really don't think the screw being slightly messed up or the soldering job detract anything from it. If it was a brand new rifle I'd paid a thousand bucks for, yeah. But on a milsurp? No way!! LOL Have you shot it yet?

Nice! The furniture is fantastic! The problems you point out are very minor, IMO :)

Thanks guys. This was the one bmwguy pointed me to. It cost me all of $100.00 and whatever FedEX ground will bill me for.

Neil, this one is in .308.

The overall length is 41 inches. I'm trying to order a new screw and a washer from Numrich. Had to order by description. The previous owner received it in trade for a job and he thinks, because of the gloss, it may have been tung oiled at one time. That wood sure is pretty! These pictures do not do the wood any justice.

All matching numbers, barrel, receiver, trigger assembly, Magazine floor plate, bolt. So this one is not going to get messed with. Clean and shoot. Don't worry, I would NEVER consider tapping her for a scope.

Using Forster Gauges, she will close on a no-go, but not on a field. I didn't strip the bolt, just place the gauges under the extractor.
