I'm stunned on how to disassemble the barrel from the slide on my colt compensated commander. Anyone have a 45 acp with a compensater that can help me out? Thx.....desertpenguin

Do you have a barrel mounted or barrel bushing comp on your gun?

The comp. is threaded on the barrel. I figured it out how to dissassemble........ The guide rod comes loose with a 5/32" allen wrench. Turned it out all the way. Took the main spring out , Popped the main guide rod bushing out from the inside of the slide, Took the barrel out.....

You're welcome!I also have a comped 1911 and once had the same problem.Striping procedures are different for both types of compensators.Please visit again!:)
