View Full Version : AIM Can't Get My C&R

On June 1st I sent a copy of my C&R license to AIM. Have called a couple of times each week but no license on file. Then I sent another copy of my license to them on June 24th. Still hasn't been received by AIM.
I sent out eight others to various companies and all were received inside a week. I am certain that I sent it to the proper AIM address because each time I have verified that address with someone there over the telephone.
What should I do? Am I that poor of a risk, lol??? I told the lady this morning that they just don't want my business. She said they really DID but had no idea what happened to my license.
They have made me order 4 guns from competitors, is all I can say. Anyone else have this problem? I really don't know what else to do.

Maybe they got it, maybe the USPS screwed up. One sure way to get off on a bad foot with them is to get "snippy" with that "guess you don't want my business" stuff. You need a small dose of patience and tolerence.
When you call to apologize, try to work with them to resolve the issue in a calm and polite manner. This has always worked for me.
Your other option is to take your business elswhere.
Just my two cents worth.

Well, as far as being snippy.... I don't think I have been that, in the least. We laughed and joked about it. But wouldn't it bother you? I mean, a month and it hasn't gone through? I think I'm a pretty sensible and tolerant guy, but I can't understand why this has happened.

Send it certified mail with return recipt service.
That way you have proof it was delivered and who signed for it.

Sure it would bother me, but we need to be more tolerant with the people that answer the phones. They took a long while to get mine on file, but it was finally done.
There are probably some companies come up with "an attitude", and I just nice them to death. Drives 'em crazy. AIM isn't one of those. They probably don't know why you aren't on file either, but it could be that the person that opens the mail and files the C&Rs is just backlogged. So far, I've had no problems with them and they even shipped me another 52lb. tin of ammo after UPS "lost" the first one.

Great idea, parrothead! I'll give 'em another week. If it still isn't there I'll send them a registered letter.
I ordered a gun from another place recently, and the guy was nice.... but you had to drag info out of him, as to what condition the gun was in, what it looked like, was it all there.... I didn't dare ask him about its date of manufacture, LOL!
Yes, I'm sure AIM is just as puzzled as I am. I've bought guns from them before and was really impressed with their service. Of course, it wasn't C&R guns.....

I do that with each vendor I send my C&R to, just to be safe...

We had a little problem with our machines and a couple days worth of FFL information was lost. Basically we had the FFL in our paper file, not in our computer. Just call me and I will find it. Believe me, we love selling guns, we would never try and turn down sales.
Thanks,

Erik,
I just got off the phone with them again, and it's still unaccounted for. He said to try back on Monday, so I will. Is this your correct address? It's the one on your website, since I don't have a catalog from AIM.

If no luck by Monday I'll send another one by registered mail. Should I address it to anyone's attention in particular?
Thanks,
