With a couple suggestions from friends here on the board I decided to redo the Rigaud I just had redone...
The first blue job wiped down thin when I oiled it down and gave it a milsurp look but that wasnt what I was shooting for.
I am used to hot dipping blue work and when doing hot blue, you oil real soon after taking the piece out of the tank. But when using Brownells Oxpho Blue, you should give it overnight at least to cure before handling and oiling it down.. Thanks neilwest for the tip..
So armed with a bottle of Oxpho Blue , a new set of grips and a good CAO cigar I set out to redo the redo job.
I want some rubber grips for it if they ever come back in stock. It still isnt perfect but I am happy with it and will give oxho blue a second chance on another one soon........the light spot on the slide is from the poor lighting in here. The blue is solid this time all over the pistol.
