Alright, alright. I'll do it. You happy now? Of course, I still have to send my damn license to them. Didn't realize they sold guns until this MAS 36 deal showed up.

AK Warrior, I have their catalog (#24) and couldn't find it either, even after searching the specific page others have mentioned where it's noted. Anyway, the item number is 713560, MAS 36, price $36. Just call them and specify the item number and catalog number if you're interested. I'm hoping my pair show up today or tomorrow. :)

Scoupe, the MAS 36 is the only complete gun they have in stock. It was a special shipment they happened into. They don't have any other complete guns for sale according to the sales rep I ordered from.

can we find our where they came from? The history of these rifles? Mine has two markings on the stock, no import stamp that I can find. My serial # on the stock is below the butt sling bar contrary to what I've seen in other photos

Finally found my broke-a$$ed self something cheap enough to pop my C&R cherry on. :D

Had no clue Numrich sold complete C&R stuff from time-to-time so I had to send in a copy of my lic. and my order snail-mail...

If they run out before they fill my order because all you guys got them, why I'll...

I take it these have been a bit rare lately? Anyway it'll be a good companion to my 49/56 when I can swing that..

and I had it in a week or maybe 9 days. That's century's speed if they already have your C&R. You'll do fine

Yeah, I was a little nervous, but was mostly joking. Thanks.

So what's the condition been like on the MAS 36's from there?

and I love it. I haven't broken mine down yet but I can't wait to see the year (probably tonight). Less than 5% bluing/black paint. Wood is chewed up. dripping in cosmoline. But she's beautiful. Wood is beaten up from dings, bayo scrapes. rifling is crisp but does not appear to have any pitting. I've just been hitting it once a night with lemon oil. If you're a lefty like I am you'll hate the position of the bolt but you'll forgive quickly. If you don't like it I'll find a way to buy it from you for the 41.95 you'll outlay so all your out is shipping once.

Battleworn dosen't bother me a bit, I like the character it lends as well. I do like good mechanicals and bores though. (Who dosen't, I guess... LOL)

Does it include any bayo's or mag pouches, etc? For the price, I'll hardly mind if it dosen't though. (edit) Ahh. I see, the cruciform spike bayo is in the under tube, giving it a sort of "semi-auto" look like the FR-8 sort of.

So that answers the bayonet, (Hopefully not missing) but was there anything else like a sling etc. included?

Also, is there any finish on the stock other than the cosmo? After cleaning my Good/Fair condition Yugo SKS, I am now in awe of the power of "Purple Power"! But I don't want to ruin the finish of the MAS, if there's any on the wood.

On my beat-up Yugo, after washing with Purple Power, I let it dry, gave it a light sanding, just enough to de-fuzz it, and gave it four coats of Tung oil, two to soak in and penetrate, and the last two were hand rubbed while wet for a nice semi gloss look. But the beautiful thing was that it didn't fill in any scratches or gouges, or the faint traces of some poor Yugoslavian conscripts grafitti. Instead the Tung oil grabbed the broken edges of the wood fibers in the gouges and scratches and darkened them back up so they looked just like they did when soaked in cosmoline, but now it's clean and pleasantly smooth to the touch at the same time.

and I'lll say the finish on the wood, at least mine, is the roads it has travelled. Now LPSpinner got on with two types of wood and I think his stock is a rearsenal. My stock matches the forearm and handrail. I think you'll look at the rifle and have feel for what you want to do with it. Who knows you may get one with a 100% paint and varnish on it. But I think when you get it you'll know what you want to do. Expect it to look like shit and you'll probably be pleasantly surprised. For 41.95 it's my favorite gun right now and I'm working on Turk#2. There's just something about it. I dunno

Andrew,

I took pictures of mine. It's on a previous thread.

I think I can take distinction for being the 1st active member on this board to receive theirs with Guinny running a very close second. (UPS held his)

I peek under the handguards and the metal was almost pristine. Very surprised, considering the rest of the rifle.

It came with the bayonet, but nothing else. No charge for the cosmoline. :)

and they put a rifle right in the middle of it where you couldn't see it
