Richard,

You have quite a collection there!! No wonder some of the guys are having problems finding them... LOL Looks like the MAS 49 has seen some foreign legion duty. The 49/56 is gorgeous!!

My neighbor has an 1886 Lebel and a Berthier Musketoon that he wants to sell me. We've not talked about them in a while as I'm not ready yet, if ever to go to the Lebel cartridge. Reloading for the 7.5 is one thing but 8mm Lebel just seems to fall outside my "Shooter" category.

I'm looking to add another MAS to my collection this week but I'm not telling what so as not to jinx the deal. I have a few variants to go yet so I'm keeping my eyes open. The enamel 36 and the 49 are my favorites fo far. They both speak to me more than the others.

that's what mine had at one time LOL. I opened mine Fri night after taking a file to a screwdriver at 1:30am (I just had to know). 1945.

Kick ass collection there. I think I know what you're going after as I see you missing two rifles. Unless you're going after the sniper derived from the 36.

Is the 49 C&R and what's the cheapest you've seen that go for?

Mine was $215.00 Sarco has one listed in SGN with what sounds like better wood, though it is the "Syrian" otherwise known as export version with the bayonet for $325-350. I saw one in Unissued/Rearsenaled condition go for just over $600 on one of the auction sites last week.

Very nice. I enjoy the lines and form of these rifles, while most call them ugly.

Great collection you have going there. I'd like to pick up another 36/51 myself.

Personally I think the 49/56 is a beautiful rifle. With all the accoutrements they give you when you buy one it's a great value! The MAS 36 is unique itself, having different looks than most bolt guns have. If ammo was cheaper I'd venture into the MAS market myself. That's quite an array of them there, Richard!
