I'm thinking of entering the AR arena from AK. Is an armalite worth the extra cash. Anyone have experience with the .308 Armalite? Does it have any more or less fouling problems than the .223? As you can see, my mind has been warped by the AK board. What kind of groups do you get with any of the above.
Thanks.

If you make that four hour trip to Brooksville...
I'll let you shoot Colt, Bushmaster or Rock River.
And then you can make an educated choice for yourself.
An AR is nothing like shooting an AK.
There is nothing wrong with a 223 AR as long as you fire quality ammo. That means NO WOLF!

I agree to keep Wolf ammo out of your AR. The lacquer has been known to cause problems. As to ammo types, I ran about 300 rounds of South African surplus through my Bushy and had absolutely no problems.

I love the Denal South Africa.
It shoots clean and the round goes straight.
All things being equal I think Bushies and Armalites are about equal in quality but Bushmaster makes the better Barrel/Chamber.
With Armalite you just pay extra for the name IMHO.
I have fired and handled a couple Armalites and they are nice rifles but not worth the extra beans as far as I can see.
Just my 2 cents....your mileage may vary:)
