Thanks to Lpspinner's help I just added a rare MAS 36/48 aka LG48 to my collection. Non-imported marked as these were never exported. Nearly all examples are believed to be battlefield pickups from Indochina. Thanks LP:D

the grenade launcher sight is missing but these are rare enough that I really don't care. With the exception of one poster on another board no one has seen a MAS with the recoil bolt through the stock either. Perhaps I can find some MAS49 parts as the front end appears the same as far as the GL is concerned.

Just overnighted my FFL and payment. Should have it by Monday at the latest.

Got here tonight. Stock, receiver, bolt, floorplate, triggerguard are all msimatched. Wood is in good shape. the only missing part appears to be the GL sight and it's snap ring. The front sight is dovetailed and loose. The barrel is marked MAT 1945 and has traces of black enamel on it under the wood. It has a frosty but shiney bore. It is not counterbored. The barrel has been ground flat on the bottom for about 3" near the front sight? This area is bright with no rust. The rear sight is marked on the back with MF. Serial # has what looks like a cursive L 62XXX. Overall I'm pretty pleased with it. Any ideas on the MAT barrel and the ground area on the barrel?
