im pretty new at this but i was told to buy USGI mags because they are supposed to be more reliable. but my question is, i have heard that i should stay away from the 40 round mags because they are not as reliable and more inferior in design than the 30 rounders. is this true or just B.S. just wonderin because i wanna get the highest cap mags possible, that are reliable

There are reliable 40rd mags, made by Sterling in England - but they're WAY more expensive than USGI.

Other aftermarket mags range from crappy but functional to crappy and worthless. Stick with USGI, you'll be happier for it.

The cheap 40's are aftermarket, and range from crappy to crappy and worthless.

Tell me again why you need 10 more rounds?

USGI 30 with 28 rounds loaded isn't enough?
Is it too hard to drop an empty and add a full mag?

Just wondering...

Tell me again why you'd load a 30rd mag to only 28 rounds? :)

Sometimes the spring get jammed up inside itself.
In a nut shell : to prevent a spring failure.

Right up there with sleeping on a piece of wedding cake, IMNSHO.

You keep loading yours to 28, old timer, if you really believe in it. :)

28 in a 30 is left over Voodoo from the old practice of putting 18 in a 20.
There is no basis in fact for putting 28 in a 30 and even less if you are using green followers.

git wit da program my brutha !:p

hate to say it but i would get a 200 round barrel if i could for my gun. i just wanted to know it the 40 has spring problems. im not sure what the purpose of puttin 28 rounds in a 30. those 2 extra rounds could be used to dump 2 more dirt bags

Then why not just buy a drum? aren't there any drums that work for the ar15??? if not then go get an SAR1 :D

Btw I've taken peopls advice and bought USGI's Well Except for those 2 Orlights i ordered, i figured for 9.99 you cant go wrong for 2 30 mag plastic clips.. if they dont work oh well its only 18 bucks.. but most people seem to say if my bushy is new enough i wont have any problems :) But just in case I'm gettin 2 USGI 20's and 2 USGI 30's :) better safe then sorry!
