OK, I ordered 2 for $300 today, but I'm thinking about getting 2 more before they are off sale after tomorrow (They still have some fair ones left).

Can someone talk me out of ordering 2 more? PLEASE!

Only a few hours left until they close....better get two more :D

There are only a finite number available, when they're gone they're gone forever!!

Hows that?

Just for that I ordered 4 more. Does anyone sell any heatshields for credit cards?

a reprieve..the sale is continued into August. I made it through July with only getting 3, I dont think I can make it through August without getting two more...

SOG in Ohio has them for $209 or two or more for $199 in their latest ad. Unfortunatly they are on backorder though.

They also have sistemas for $299ea.

Which one is better? I am looking for a shooter.

I just called SOG and they don't have any idea when they will have sistemas again. Tomorrow they may say something different..... I may just grab 2 ballesters from century.

Well Im just trying to pass it along to others. I live in OH and have not yet purchased anything from them. I have had success with AIM with a M48 Mauser that I have been pretty happy with.

What difference is there with the Sistema and a Bollester? I would like to know. Are 1911 parts interchangeable with these guns?

The Sistemas are a duplicate of the 1911, so all parts are interchangeable. On the Ballesters, only the mags and the barrels can be changed out with 1911 parts.

Go to: http://cruffler.com/ for a good write-up on both pistols. The article is in their archive, I believe.

Welcome to the board. There are alot of good people here who are more than willing to answer any and all questions. No matter how many times they are asked!:)

And that Cruffler article can be found at the top of the 1911 forum page. I hadn't noticed it when I wrote my original post.

Do you sell them or what? Just wondering why someone would want that many. Must be a screaming deal. I sent a copy of my C&R to Century, and AIM. Now I just need to wait and hope deals don't pass me by.

SOG had a French MAS 36 converted over from 7.5 to .308 cal that i wanted but was too late. Oh well.

big1dog,

You hit the nail on the head, it's a screaming deal. If you have several and somewhere down the road you decide you don't need all of them, you won't lose money on them. They are great pistols and great shooters. Not to mention the history with them, too.

SOG runs out of supplies pretty fast. I have tried to get things from them for weeks and they're sold out when I call. Of course, good items sell fast, but low volume of stock does too...

Dang this board. Got to get a life in the sun. Every time I log on I find something else I just need!! These 2 for $300 Ballesters from CIA are just too much to resist. Made it through July, but now they are continuing it through Aug, so smoke that plastic, I'm going for it!! Given that the barrels can be replaced with std colt type makes this a sreamin deal. I've never found a decent .45 for less than 300 and now I get 2!! Got to go for it!!

I just bought 2 more - said there were 60 Molinas left in fair shape.

Ballesters are like crack to me right now! HELP!!!!!

Well, at least they can be sold for at least cost in the future to fellow C&R friends. :jump:

Samuel,

Now you're talking! That's a great deal and you can't lose. Those 60 others will be gone soon. Everyone likes Ballesters so I'm sure some of us will be getting in touch with you....

Just got my 2 Wednesday and yesterday I shot both of them. They both came with an extra clip that for some reason doesn't want to slide in very well.

Took one apart to find that the spring in it is bent. Should I send back to CIA? Anyone know where to get replacement parts for these guns? Will 1911 accessories form someone like cdnn work? Im looking for springs, grips, internal replacement parts for mine if possible.

I know for a fact that a 10 round clip that cdnn sells DOES work with this gun.

Overall you cant beat the price for a 45 I think. For the cost of a used one I got two. Can't beat that with a stick!!!!

Next I'll ask for help in refinishing these guns, they are pretty worn.

Thanks to everyone who posted! I would never have known about this deal if it wasn't for everyone on this thread. THANKS!!

Colt 1911 magazines and barrels will fit the Ballesters...... but that is all......CDNN and JLD have the original wood grips and JLD also has wrap around rubber grips....

I made a mistake and said J & G Sales. It is actually JLD that has them along with CDNN. Below is a link to the grips at JLD

JLD Enterprises (http://www.jldenter.com/JLD%20Accessories%20page.htm)

So where do I get the internal parts for them such as springs? I have one with a bent spring that I need to replace.

Someone posted a link to a place that sells parts for them but I dont remember it. Run a search on Ballester parts and it should come up. I will look for it too. I thought I bookmarked it but dont see it readily. I will post it if I can find it again......

What spring is bent in yours ?

big1dog
08-16-2002, 01:32 PM
The main spring. I push the releif in the front of the gun, turn, and the spring will come out. Close inspection I saw the end was bent a little. When I put the spring back in i have to trun it to get started.
