My factory shorty (11.5/5.5 permanent flash suppressor) is very nice.

I have a pre ban Oly CAR - 15. It is a fine rifle. I have only had it a few weeks and have shot only premium cartridges thus far. I will experiment with more affordable ammo in the up coming weeks to see how well it shoots with wolf etc.

The Oly factory ( call toll free ) was real cool when I called. Sent me for free : catalog - original manual and - patch - and free replacement cap for pistol grip cover.

I bought my rifle used ( out of local Seattle paper ) for $900. Rifle is in as new 100% condition. came with a very neice variable scope - 4 hi cap mags - 200 rounds ammo - cleaning kit and a soft sided assault carrying case. I thought was a very solid buy. I see same rifle ( just rifle ) going for $1100 + on www.gunbroker.com.

Bayonet wont fit, but there are a few flashlight/laser mounts out there that used the lug as part of the mount.

A bayonet fits right on the 11.5/5.5 prebans with bayo lug.

There are literally hundreds of places to buy M7 or M9 bayonets. My most recent M7 (with black plastic M10 scabbard) purchase was from DPMS (http://www.dpmsinc.com)

I just read where someone used a set of mid-length hand guards and a barrel with the gas port moved up to where the bayonet can be effectively mounted to a 16" barrel.
