1. This was there $65.00 special. Very nice but sold as a nonshooter as they dont check headspace and wont be responsible if one blows up on you. Mine came with a broken firing pin but I had one from a UFIXEM gun I bought earlier.

2. These things are safe IMO but I would check headspace as with all C & R rifles just to ensrue safety. If I had guages I would have used them but this was the best way to test it IMO without a guage.

3. You guys gotta get one. Well worth the money.

Man that is sweet!

A question for the experts:

Were Carcano stocks "finished" when they left the factory's during WWII? I didn't put any tung oil on mine because I thought it would be improper...

Beautiful!

So what's your secret to getting these guns done so quickly?

Speaking of Carcanos . . . I have stumbled onto a source for the clips that may not be too expensive compared to most places. If I can swing it I'm trying to get 50 of them. The price would be $4 each, minimum order of 3 for free shipping.

Yes, they used Tung Oil, but just a few coats and NOT shiny looking, more like semi-glossy. The wood should be orange/orangish red, as it is Beechwood.

I use the low lustre Tung Oil you can get at Ace or True Value.

I was hoping you would see my question, thanks for the reply! My stock has almost a purple shade to it. It is very interesting to look at :) I wonder what caused that? I think I have leached all the cosmo out of it, but maybe I better put it back in the car trunk for a few more days....

After the heat treatment, I highly recommend heavy duty Paint Stripper and a putty knife. Leave each application on for about 15-20 minutes, and paint it on heavy. When you finish scraping away brown gel, you got most all the cosmo out!
