1. Without any way to check for headspace I decided to range fire my M-41 Carcano today. I went out back and set it up in my vise concoction sitting on a old wood spool. It have two bales of polypropolene scrap I shoot into as the target. I tied the old string to it and went beyind a plywood shield I put up. I pulled the trigger and it performed flawlessly.
2. I then picked it up and examined the shell casing for bulges or anything like that and satisfied that it was shootable commenced to pump 20 rounds through it. Very nice gun. I love it.
3. It was sold as a nonshooter as it hadnt been inspected and couldnt be gauranteed of safety. I had to replace the fireingpin that was snapped with one I had from another Carcano parts gun and she was good to go. The bore is mirror to look almost chrome. These things were fired much.
