Trijicon ACOG Dust Covers

What is currently being used in the field to cover the lenses of the various Trijicon ACOG Weapons Sights? My ACOG was supplied with a bikini type rubber cover. Every time I remove the bikini type cover, you can clearly see where the rubber had touched the len(s), and left a smudge requiring use of the supplied brush to clean up the area. I don't like having to do it at the range, who would want to try it in the field! So what options are being tried? Anyone? Thanks.

you may use the supplied brush because you paid a lot of money for the sight, and don't want to scratch the lens....a soldier on the other hand, will use a field expedient method to clean the lens in the field, if he needs to...like his sleeve etc..

since you really don't need the cover, why even use it...that will take care of your smudging dilemma. but if you really want to use the cover, put a piece of tissue paper between the lens and the cover.
