I've chronographed this ammo and it is not exactly what I was hoping for. I am comparing it to some Romanian 5.45x39 I have. Russian Romanian
68 grain 67 grain
flat bottom Boat tail
FMJ FMJ
Dull Gray Green Laquered
steel case steel case
berdan primed berdan primed
2400 fps!!!! 2800fps

The romanian also was completely sealed with red laquer at the primer and the case mouth.

Try to find something other than this Russian commercial since you just won't be getting the velocity you should with this type of round. By the way this was out of a 16" barrel.

What kind of headstamp has the russian
5,45 on it??

"3" with "95" at 6 o´clock??

Try Mesko ammmo, they are very good IMHO and
work very good in both the SSG 82 and my
AKS 74 U ( russian manufactured )

You have an actual AKS 74 U manufactured in Russia?

God, how I envy the Swiss shooters. I wish I had been born Swiss.

Yes, they sold them here for CHF 990 ( around $ 660 ) before January first almost anyone older than 17 years could buy them ( yes, Americans too, but import into the US is
almost impossible http://www.ak-47.net/akcgi/smile.gif

But at the moment they are sold out...

Btw, they sold M 16 A1´s as well ( $ 800 for
an almost factory new one )

Drawback is that you may own it, but there´s almost no place to shoot them ( they aren´t allowed at our 300m shooting ranges and the only places where you can shoot them are 25m
indoor ranges...no fun
