Has anyone used this stuff extensively? What sort of accuracy are you getting? I got some but haven't shot it much yet. Does anyone know where to Lappua ammo? A friend of mine is claiming 2" groups at 100 yds. with this ammo out of an SLR95 using iron sites.

I'm interested also. I've also heard that South African ammo shoots truer than the budget Ruskie surplus I have. Before I invest in a case of South African, how does it compare to Sellier & Bellot? FWIW, are all Berdan primed cartridges "corrosive"? I'd prefer to use "non-corrosive" ammo, (Yeah... I'm a little anal about my weapons!) but I can't see spending double for U.S. made ammo just to get non-corrosive Boxer primed cartridges.

Useing CLP to clean your guns will elimanate that corrosive ammo anal problem your having.
Use CLP and you won't care whether it's corrosive or not.

Thanks, JA. One less thing to worry about. I'll check the "cleaning & maintenance" topics for CLP recommendations.

No, All berdan is not corrosive. This has Nothing to do with what priming compound was used. The South African stuff is non corrosive. South Africa does not make any corrosive ammo. H.M.

Jaeger, what is the final verdict on the South African ammo? What other ammo have you tried and how does the S/A compare?

So far I've only used a litte of the ammo. It functions fine. When I can I'll test it for accuracy and let you know how it does.

I also have picked up two case's and have fired it exclusively thru my YUGO AK besides the YUGO ammo itself and I love it. Non-corrosive and brass case 200 round sealed battle packs 7 to a case. I have three people in the office whom have switched to it over the russian ammo and cezh ammo. They have said it shoot better and is cleaner then the other stuff.

25 people in my office and 13 are gun owners and four have AK's and SKS's and all have had nothing but good to say about the SA ammo.

I would buy it now as the last person to buy in the office had a hard time finding some on stock. Classic Arms was sold out as was AIM surplus. I think he ended up buying it at Burns Brothers.

I've used 7.62x39m South African ball in all of my 7.62x39mm AK's and SKS's and the accuracy is the very best of all the imported ''milspec'' 7.62x39mm. Another plus is that it's brass cased , albeit berdan primed. I picked up a 1,400 rd case a ew months back at a gun show and highyl recommend this ammo to any AK or SKS fan.
