View Full Version : This Russian 'Wolf' Ammo looks good!
Maybe just the new packaging but isn't it the same as the Tula that used to come in?
Cases are are a nice shiny lacquer and the bullet/case junction and primer are nicely sealed with a red 'paint'.
I got some for 2.89 a box and this stuff looks like it'll store for a very long time.

Hi Ay-K,
Tula's ammunition used to be one of the best in the former USSR. It is supposed to be a better quality even now.

It is good ammo - seems that the only changes to the Russian 123gr JHP is the box that it comes in. This stuff should store for a very long period and I have loaded up my old 'white-box' ammo to shoot up so that I can store the new stuff I just bought.
Get it now while the prices are still reasonable, throughout the end of the year, dealers are going to be selling hand-over-fist and gouging the market. February/March, we'll see a turnaround in the market and we'll all be in plinker paradise!
Finally, something good to say about Y2K!

I recently bought a case (1000 rds) of Wolf hollow-points for about $113, and I must agree they are quite nice. I've experienced no feeding problems with them in my SA85M, but of course it NEVER has feeding problems. They also seem to shoot accurately. Get plenty of it if you can. Really good stuff.
How 'bout that, Okami.
Right now I'm cutting a deal for a new SA-85M for 525 AND stocking up on this Wolf ammo, too!!
I really find this rifle appealing for the money and it's about the only one of the 'mid' postbans that actually look good [to me].
If it's as good as everybody says---and I mean I haven't heard but ONE gripe about the Hungarian [sights], I'm sure I'll be very happy with it. Good shooter, eh?
Nice to know that someone already test fired it positively with the very ammo I intend to use in quantity.
Safe shootin'.
