View Full Version : Carcano 8mm Project Completed

1. I finished the Carcano 8mm project. It took, three dowels in the back, three to repair the upperhandguard, four coats of tung oil and the old steelwool bore cleaning rig I got to really finish her up. I added a cleaning rod and voila. Now if I could just get the clip that fits a 8mm I would have it made. The finish is as you see it except for the Tung Oil, no stain.
2. This thing has the kick of a mule but is very nice to shoot.

Havent even targeted it yet. That will be in the morning. Ive just put it in the Gunvise to shoot it once and then shoulder fired it at a tree twice.:D

I must give you props on the job you did cleaning the rifle.It looks like a completely different gun now.Let us know how it groups on paper when you can.Thanks!

I got a 3.5" 5 shot group at 100 yards with mine, using Remington ammo.
Surprising for a barrel a little longer than an AK-47, and fixed sights!

1. Hey HerrDoc, good to hear from you again. I havent seen you posting lately. I think I got a couple of converts on our Carcanos. Tell me again how you made the clip for this beauty.
