Want to know how to (chamber prob)

I have a complete P/O carbon 15 pistol upper, which supposedly needs the attention of a chamber reamer. The previous owner told me it wouldn't extract all the time. He replaced it with another & put this one aside. I know to check for scratches or burrs, but what is the proper way to check for chamber dimension. Go/No go gauges come to mind, but is there a better way to determined if the chamber is out of spec? Thanks all :cool:

GO/NOGO gauges will are fine for headspace but they wont help you with chamber dimensions in the neck area. Personally I would put some black magic marker on the neck area of a cartridge and chamber it by hand to look for spots where the
marker may have rubbed off to check for tight spots but I dont know that it would be much help.
