I now own 3 complete M38 Carcano's...

(toe added for Whos2kno)

The rifle on the top is my first Carcano - the one that gave me the bug ;)

The other two are UFIXEMS

The Carbine in the middle is my favorite, it looks like it would be very fast in the field. It has a interesting carving in the stock...

The bottom one needs a front swivel and bolt, but is otherwise complete. I am not going to refinish this one as it has a "silver dollar" sized stamp on the left side of the buttstock that I can't really make out except for it says D' Armi or something to that effect.

Zouave,

That's a great start on Carcanos. I like those things too. If I could hurry up and get enough Mosins I'd be free to become a Carcano buff... LOL Save a couple for me!!

The carving on the carbine is fantastic! I wouldn't change anything about that.

Survivior,

I am going to leave that little piece of Abanian history alone on my Italian rifle. ;)

When I see carvinigs like that I wonder many things. DId the guy get his ass chewed for doing it? What was he thinking? Was it during down time during battle? THis to me classifies as war "art". can't wait for my C & R. Tonight I was talking to my father about my interests. I showed him the nice booklet that the ATF sent me outlining the different firearms that I can have delivered to my door. Boy oh boy am I going to be broke....and in trouble!(with my wife:) )

"War art"

What an interesting way to look at stock graffiti. I like your way of thinking, Elduce!

Definately war art and makes the gun more valuable as a historical piece.
