I was out of town for a few weeks, working, and had no access to a computer. I may not be on daily, but will stop by a few times a week, to check up on the boards.

I just finished stripping all the dark gook off the stock of another 91/38 I picked up Tuesday. This gun looked like it sat in a vat of motor grease for years, but it is slowly starting to clean up and will look nice soon. I am finally down to that cool orange beechwood, after about a half a can of Paint Stripper and a worn out straight razor!:D

1. The 38 Carbine is coming out beautifully. I decided that I wanted to find out what the actual wood looked like and to see if I could match that beautiful Gardone Vt 38 Rifle I have. I stripped then sanded the stock down to bare wood (I know, I know, there goes the history) and then tungoiled her back. It is a beautiful orangy color. An exact match of the 38 Rifle.
2. I love the shade. I just ordered two more 38 UFIXEMS from Century to piece together one more 38. Im HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY. :jump:

Neil:
Model 1938 and 91/38 short rifles from Gardone VT are not very common - congrats to that one !
