I have seen a pre-ban AR15 that has a serial number less than 500, with no lettes following. I am told if there are letters following then it could be in the millions because there were different series issued. The rifle has just a number with no letters before or after the number. Its a 5 digit number and the gun is a Colt, no forward assist and is basically mint condition. What would it be worth. I have done some research but havent found an exact number or even a rough estimate. Thanks for the info!

Its the AR15. Its the first diesign to come out I guess. I has no forward assist. I never heard anything like sp1. All I know is that its probably from the 60s if not the early 70s. It has the triangular forend like the Vietnam issued ones.

As a rifle, $1000-$1200.

If it's really a first-year Colt, it might have additional collector value - but only to a collector.

Ive seen a similar AR15 at a very reasonable gun dealer by me that was selling for almost 1500. This one seemed to be a match to the one Ive seen with the low serial number except it wasnt a low number. I guess the price changes from state to state.
