Just installed a new Cobra sight.

Whats the most effective way to use this thing? Holding it at home, I find that I'm inclined to hold my head close to stock, cocked over so that I'm sighting with my left eye (I'm holding the rifle with my right).

A question on ballistics. For line of sight 1.5 inches above line of fire, a Federal ballistics chart shows that point-of-impact (POI) at 50 yards will be +1.9 inches above line-of-sight, at 100 yards +3.5 inches above line-of-sight. This is for a rifle zeroed at 200 yards.

Now, the Cobra sits about 3 inches above the line-of-fire, unlike the iron sights which are about 1.5 inches.

Without having access to a ballistics program it seems to me I can take the following approach.

At 50 yards, the POI is 1.9 inches above the line-of-sight. However, the Cobra line-of-sight is another 1.5 inches above the iron line-of-sight. Therefore, using the Cobra, the POI at 50 yards should be +0.4 inches above the line of sight, etc.

Is this a valid way to procede, or have I missed something?

When you sight down the Cobra KEEP BOTH EYES OPEN thats the way it is designed to work.

Where did you find out about the Cobra? I'm looking for photos, and info on the Sight. I was thinking of buying the Armson OEG Sight for $172.00.
