1. Ive done pretty well with Century's UFIXEMS up to this week. The CZ-50's were lackluster and I ordered two 38 Carcano Rifles and got two really bad 38 Carbines instead.
2. But this was a keeper so I figured I would post so you guys can see that with a little luck these UFIXEMS can turn out good

What's wrong with the 38s? I must have missed the post. What did you fix on this one? It's post like this gets me wanting to risk it. :D

1. This one was missing a firing pin and spring. I had an extra bolt so I swapped parts.
2. I have a 38 Rifle UFIXEM sitting around missing a bayo lug and front screw. I ordered two 38's figuring I would get the parts I needed and have some extras for when these dry up for spares. Instead I got two 38 Carbines, no bolts, not buttplates, no bayonets, not triggerguard. In short I couldnt use the two to make one. I just got them yesterday so I havent had a chance to post about them.
3. I was able to find the parts I need from another source so Im OK and I did send one UFIXEM to a friend as it had parts he needed but overall it wasnt one of Century's better shipments to me.
4. See even my luck turns sometimes. But that is just two out of about 20 UFIXEMS Ive gotten so Im still batting better than average.
5. the stock was lemon oiled, baked, stripped with purple power, baked again, then steelwooled down using course, medium, to fine. I finished up by tung oiling it not staining.

Neil, again you are the Master. There is such a huge difference!
So the orange is a nature color of the wood?
I hope your kids shows some interest in your woodworking skills. It would be a shame if none of them wanted to learn.
u-fix-em's is an averages game. You win some and you loose some, but overall it's been good to me also.

Very very nice. Yep sometimes you can get a real fine piece out of Ufixums. Depends on what your ordering too I think. I believe retvet mentioned that. Also they tend to charge more for better ones but thats definately not an absolute. I prefer their 'cracked stock' specials WAY more than Ufixums. Some times on those you can get a mint rifle with a hairline fracture or a cracked handguard. The only time I gamble with Ufixums is if I'm only looking for a part or two.
Looks like you reblued it too?

1. Yes the wood on these are a orange color. This is unstained natural with tung oil finish. Beautiful wood.
2. Yes I reblued the parts. This again was a hodgepug of parts so I OXPHOBLUED them to match.:p
