Dear J&G customer,
As many of you know the Turkish 1938 Mauser has been the greatest deal on
Mausers over the last couple of years. We have sold many, many of these rifles
at $39.95, and people love them as great, economical shooters.
But lately the supply is beginning to tighten up, and some distributors are
close to running out. Here at J&G we should still be able to supply them for a
good while longer, however the price will be going up mid-October to $49.95
each. Of course at $49.95 they are still a great deal, but we are letting all
you on our list know first, so that if you are interested you can still get in
on the deal at $39.95 for another few weeks.
The rifles are Turkish military, mostly 1940's production, in 8mm caliber. They
are in good condition. Hand select is available for $10.00 extra per rifle.
Check them out at:

I already bought one from them and I was very pleased. It came with a bayonet and scabbard too. Wish I had a dozen of those Turks!!

Guinny,
It's been a couple of months now but it wasn't bad at all. They can quote their shipping rates to you over the phone a lot better than my memory, LOL! It was a very nice Turk, though. It even has a brass cleaning rod.

The CDNN catalog I just got has listed:
Air Force Turkish Mausers, 1903/38, good condition, rough bores, rare find, $39.99 each.
So what's with this? Is there such a thing as an "Air Force" turk? Sounds like a 1903 udated to 1938 specs, but someone tell me if I'm wrong.

Yeah, I think their Air Force was equipped with two-seat biplanes at the time. The rear seated navigator used them to fire at enemy pilots during dogfights. These are extremely rare, only about 500 marked as such ;)

But are you allowed to receive ammo from abroad without a permit?

No, I require a permit to import any quantity of ammo, firearms or parts. But the arms officer has been most generous lately and granted both of the ones I have applied for.

Can it come from a private party in the states? Are there any US laws that would prohibit one of us sending ammo to him

Only the fact that you have to have a FFL1 to ship [correct me if I'm wrong] Also the the UPS will not ship ammo under any circumstances

zouave, It's on the cover of my issue, bottom right side. It's labeled volume 2002-4, Fall Sale. The full dscription of the turk reads:
Air Force Turkish Mausers, 29" Barrels, 1903/38 8MM, good condition, non-matching numbers, rough bores, rare find, $39.99 each, too cheap!

Thanks, I'll check again when I get home from work. Does anyone know what special markings these AF turks have, if any?

I sell ammo to people all over the US and I buy wholesale with my business license. No 01 FFL here.
UPS does ship ammo, that's how Century ships theirs. I use FedEx Ground. As long as the package is properly label, it's fine.

USPS. Sorry. Just realized I typed it wrong. I thought ammo had to originate from an FFL1. Learn something everyday

zouave, I called CDNN about these mausers. They said they are basically just a 1903 upgraded to 1938 standards. Apparently this was a type of rifle used by the Turkish air force. No special markings or anything like that as far as the sales rep knew.
