I have two 6.5mm M38 short rifles and an M38 carbine from Century Arms. They were given to me to me from a dear friend on this board...

I thought my two short rifles were like the one that killed President Kennedy, but now I am not sure what I have. My receipts say they are M38 rifles but according to this website:

http://www.jfk-assassination.de/WCH/frazier_r1.html

Mr. Eisenberg.
And is the 6.5 caliber weapon distinguished from the 7.35-caliber weapon by name?
Mr. Frazier.
Yes, it is; it is by the model number. The model 91/38 designates the 6.5 mm. rifle, whereas the model 38 designates the 7.35.

So what is the official designation of my rifles, are they offically M38 or are they M91/38's?

Thanks!

Zou

1. See the thread on the Beretta 38 on this forum, but basically yours are 91/38's as they are the 6.5 cal. These were indeed the same as the one that shot Kennedy. Century just mislabeled them.

Zouave, I had no idea you had three Carcani! Welcome aboard, paesano!

Yes to all Neil said. All of your rifles are 91/38's - Century is just being beligerent! :D

I'll bet your markings are close to the "C2766" rifle, too.
