JLH, your mag is most likely a Chinese Type 68 mag. These mags were imported in small quantities in the mid 80's. The type 68 is a select fire rifle that looks very much like an SKS. The standard mag for these was a black Bakelite 20 round mag, although the Chinese also made 20 steel mags for the rifle. I haven't seen one for sale in a long time, so I can only guess at the value. I would think somewhere around $30-40.

Does it have star on each side?
Does it have bolt hold open feature in the follower? If it does its for the chinese model 68 just like the previous post said. I wouldn't use it in a Ak-47. If you swap followers with a standard ak mag follower it will work fine.
