View Full Version : I think J & G Sales ripped me off

I picked up 2 "Russian ribbed" 30-round AK mags from J & G last week. They were nice enough, but after I took them to my pad they seemed a *lot* like East Germans to me.
I figured I'd take them back and ask for the difference in cash (Russian mags advertised for $20 a copy, EG's for $15), but then I noticed my receipt says this:
NO REFUNDS AND NO EXCHANGES
So, it appears that I paid $20 for EG mags billed as "Russian." Not surprisingly, the Norinco and Romanian mags they advertised were "out."
I think I am a victim of the old, "bait and switch" routine. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Bummer Doc. I have done a fair amount of business with those guys (mostly ammo) and have been treated well. Sorry to hear of your misfortune. Did you go to their place directly or mail order? cya

I went there in person.
I asked the guy specifically for Russian mags, but didn't figure out what happened until I returned. I thought I'd go back, until I read the receipt.
Live and learn (the hard way), huh? Oh well. http://www.ak-47.net/akcgi/frown.gif

Go back anyway. Those notices are not always absolute when a MISTAKE is made. They just get tired of people swithing items on them or buying and changing their so-called mind over and over etc.
Of course, if they are richard craniums over it we need to know!

I bought a 40 rounder at Knob Creek from a dealer claimed it was Russian, (I really didnt care) it was packed in grease and when I got home I noticed it was E. German. I agree take them back and simply show them their mistake, somebody should have a reciept showing you ordered russian? Good luck and let us know what happens...

I had just the opposite happen. About a month ago, I bought a bunch of E German mags from Classic Arms to "stock up" so to speak. Some were new and some a little used. Turns out some of the surplus blued mags were Russian, complete with the Izvhesk arrow and trianggle on the rib. Go figure..

Not yet, but a move may be in the works. Until then, I'm just storing my stuff in AZ (since I am in CA for now).
Thanks for your advice, guys! http://www.ak-47.net/akcgi/smile.gif
