Ok guys I know this is way off subject but who makes the best quality folding shotgun stock and pistol grip? Does anyone make a metal one? Thanks

If you have a Rem. 870 (I have 2 personally), then the FACTORY Remington "Law Enforcement Use Only" stock is best quality, IMHO, for that particular weapon. ALL STEEL.
It is a top folder, and is very rugged. Only drawback is it kicks like HELL as there is no recoil pad, nor any provision for one. Only a thin rubber sliver on the butt plate to protect top of receiver from being marred when stock is folded over on top of it. Cost can range from approx. $70-$100 or so, depending on condition, etc. I don't know if they even make these any more, but you can still find them at gun shows on occasion. My .02. HTH.

I have seen those they are sharp. I have several 870s in long configuration and like the guns very well. I am considering either that, the mossberg, or the ithaca depending on what I come across at what price. I am hoping for a private sale. I am not real worried about comfort since this wont be a regular shooter except to check it every year. I just want a good solid camp gun that I can get on my pack.

From what i have been looking at the coate topfolders, the butler creeks look pretty well made too. Thanks.

Also I am looking for one for a marlin model 60 .22.

Hey, my "pre-ban" Choate side-folder on my "pre-ban" 10/22 RULES. I love that thing!
If I still had my Marlin mod. 60, I'd consider the Choate for it too, if they are still availible. It would make for a decent "camp gun" set-up, I think. I think that pretty much all Choate stocks are good quality. I don't have any experience with the Butler Creek stocks, but if the quality on those is anywhere near like that on their "hot lips" mags, then they must be pretty good! ( Of all aftermarket 10/22 hi-cap mags I have tried, ONLY the Butler Creeks have NEVER jammed!)

Ya I was thinking that, I got like 6 of the standard model 60 marlins with the stupid youth safety medallion stock on so I figured if I can find a quality folding stock one would make a great little camp rimfire. I believe they are old enough to be preban but even so I dont think the "assault weopon" rules apply since they are not detachable mag guns. Thanks

By the way 10/22s are nice guns I have two of them (well one is mine the other my fathers but I am an only child so it has gotten to the point we dont know whos is whos anymore. One is very postban it was the first gun I bought when I turned 18. Had to have it, it was advertised on special (around Christmas)at wally world with that sharp green laminate stock and stainless finish for $119 buck I think. The other one I think is old enough to be preban my father has had it for at least a decade but it has a really nice walnut stock and I hate to strip it down.
