I bought a SAR1 from AIM and got to looking at the mag lips on the 2 mags I got with it. THey look like they are "roughly" cut and no smoothing has been done to them at all. Sharp edges, angles, etc. Is this normal? Do I need to take a dremel to the edges and smooth them out? The only mags I have had are SKS, AR15, and a Rem Viper .22 mags. So I have no frame of reference for AK mags...

I woulnd't be concerned, especially if you aren't having any problems seeding. If they seem a little rough, you must understand, the mag manufacturing process of stamping the sheet was designed for expediency, not to produce a work of art. It is in line with the AK action/wepon system...shoots like a motherf*%ker with strong, almost violent action to ensure function in any enviornment.
My suggestion..if it aint broke, don't fix it.

They sound fine to me. They are all rough on the edges. They weren't made for a beauty contest. If they work don't fix 'em. cya
