Richard, it is definitely a Model 1886 Lebel (http://www.securityarms.com/20010315/galleryfiles/1300/1352.htm). Also, it is being advertised as, ".30 caliber". This rifle was originally chambered in 8x50Rmm Lebel. They absolutely don't know what they have!

The was no 1886 model of Swiss (military) rifle. SIG and Rudolph Schimdt were working on designs for the Vetterli's replacement at that point in time, but neither prototype would have a 90,000 series serial number.
