Just looking for an AR for plinking and a little shooting. want something reliable and pretty accurate, but doesnt have to be the best of the best tacktical rifles.
I see FAC Guns & Stuff has these Olympic Arms 16" chromed barrelled "plinkers" for $499. Are these any good? Or would I be wasting my money?

Internals & barrels are ok. The upper reciever, lower reciever, & front sight post are cast, not forged aluminum. I saw one broken at the buffer threads after accidentally dropped. The buttstock popped off. It was also in the case when dropped. Oly replaced it.
I'd spend a little more & get a Rock River Arms carbine. A milspec bargain.

Wildmann43,
I am an AK guy, so I must admit I don't know much about AR's, do you know who would have a good deal on the Rock River Arms Carbines and about how much it would cost?

I got the better one,. the PCR4 kit, forged, assembled and test fired and headspaced.. for $424, + $12.95 shipping, and a forged lower Olympic reciever for $150, total cost is about $587....of course , I have to put the lower together, but still saved a couple hundred over gunshow prices, and the PCR4 from olympic is $792 list price......something to think about........Ruskie

Sorry I missed your post, try www.pdmall.com
RRA actually cut him off, he was selling so cheap.
He's selling them again.
That's a great price on a PCR, too. Nothing wrong with them, you just don't get a 2 stage match trigger unless you pay about $125.00 more. RRA all have 2 stage factory installed. Standard equipment.

is single stage, but it is very crisp, light, and very very smooth, right out of the box..............Ruskie
