Seems like you would have the same prob i have...How would you wear your camelback with your pack on? One of my number one priorities would be having my Liquipak w/ me when i drop my Pack. If you strap your camelback on your pack or have a pack w/ a 'custom' sleeve..... it wont work. Remember Line 1,2 & 3 gear phil.

Wellthe straps onthe pack can be let out and basically hook some-where cause in opinion I think the camel-back is one of the most important pieces of gear I carry.

I installed quick release connections on the retaining straps of my ruck. I put my camalback under the map case flap on top and can pull it out quickly if I need it. Its usually dry by the time I reach an orp though, so it isn't much of an issue.

If so I grab either my sidefolder AK, or my short barrel AR. Mags out the ass on a load bearing vest, small ruck with MREs, combat knife, pistol, poncho, and canteen. I live in an extremely urban enviroment so compact, lightweight, and concealment are key.

Your idea of Fastex buckles is a good idea. What about Rigging 4 buckles on the ruck; then the 4 already on my liquipack would snap right on !!!!! thanks.

I asked my grandfather about that idea(He escaped & evaded from Chech. to Italy then Israel and the British occupation during WW2 w/ the help of the resistance.) He said one of the keys to survival was concealment. Civiy clothes, pouches, and Weapons (ie STEN) saved his butt many times.

I keep 16 30-round AR mags loaded with 20 rnds each (to avoid spring damage) in usgi bandoliers. I also have 7 20-round mags in an old-style bandolier fully loaded with soft points/hollow points (my Deptartment OKs personal ARs for patrol).
In my medium-size a.l.i.c.e. pack I have an additional 500 packaged rounds. Extra socks & clothing depending on the season. Goretex coat & pants, insect repellent, sunscreen, compass, flashlight & batteries, survival & improvised munitions manuals, OD green duct tape, and a Bible.
Glock M22 with 10 Hi-cap mags. Glock 19 (or other 9mm) might be better due to ammo availability.
If I can leave in a vehicle, I'm taking all my guns & ammo as well as food, clothing and whatever else fits. If not (Oh S#!t), ammo, ammo, ammo, water, and Bible.
Noticeably lacking is first aid supplies. I admit it, I have fallen down on the job here. I do plan to correct this deficiency ASAP.
There is much else I need to add. This type of discussion is excellent and thought provoking.
I don't remember who said it but there is a quote from the Napoleonic era that applies here. Paraphrased it is: "Let the enemy be your quartermaster."
Truth be known, once TSHTF I think that the need for extensive supplies will be negated by a short life expectancy for those who fight. I much prefer this to submission, though.

a white SUV ? i agree with getting a truck/suv, but white? seems like it would make you stand out more than you need to, not that a truck/suv isnt going to make you stand out anyway --just an observation

As far as medical supplies...
I read an interesting piece on that recently.
In it the author mentioned you should only carry very basic supplies, bandages, iodine, ace bandage. His point was that advanced supplies are useless, unless:
A) you know how to properly use them.
B) you can get patient/yourself to a hospital fast.
Advanced field procedures are only good if stable (hospital) conditions are in the imediate future. Don't weigh yourself down with IVs scalples and crap, you will only die tired.

The jist of my "WAR BAG" contains 38 30round mags for the ar-15,on load bearing vest with 2 saw pouches and 2 more 3 mag pouches.Pistol in .357 sig 150 rounds,body armor with level 4 plate,kevlar helmut,m-40 gas mask with 2 sealed filters,russian nvg's,woodland camo,ham radio,cold steel ghurka,cold steel srk knife,a few cans of Red Bull energy drink,and my trusty Doc Martens.
