Anyone have any experience with the LC2 magpouches for ak's? They are identical to m-16 pouches except larger.

These are custom pouches but you might try Blackhawk Ind. or FMCO. They both make excellent gear!!!!

Brigade Quatermasters http://www.actiongear.com/ sells an LC2-style AK mag holder. They claim it holds 3-30rd mags but I can only get it to hold 2 comfortably. It works well for my purposes (I just want a couple of extra mags to supplement what I carry on my tac vest) but I wouldn't recommend it as your primary carry method.

Thanks Tomac, I guess I'll just stick to my E-german pouches till I can afford a vest.

Viking, I have the LC2 pouches for the AK and they are definitely a mixed blessing. The construction is excellent and is identical to the M-16 mag pouch, milspec on steroids. The drawback is it is built like the M-16 mag pouch! It has the plastic reinforcing plates in front and back and if you carry your mags like you're supposed to, upside down with the rounds facing outboard, the tit on the back of the mag catches the bottom edge of the plate and severely hinders drawing the mag. By hinder, I mean you gotta jerk, twist, use both hands, and go through all sorts of gyrations to draw that puppy out! If you were to carry them upright, the draw would be easier but then you have to shift your grip on the mag, another pain. A good alternative is the green Israeli 2-mag pouches sold by Gun Parts. They're soft pouches with velcro closures and they carry the mags flat against the body but they are easier to use in a hurry. They are also cheap at $7 a pouch. Hope this helps...

As Chris C says, check out Galati. I'm using two of their AK mag pouches (MP40), $17.95 plus shipping and they are really great.
