I was curious about something. What is everyones' personal last straw? What I'm asking is how far can the government regulate guns before people react? If you think about it, that are slowly taking away what we can legally own...Whats the last straw? Are most people waiting for an all out gun ban before they will react? What if they one day all out ban Auto-Matic and Semi-Automatic Rifles and Handguns. But they keep some around. How far are you guys willing to get screwed before they stand up?

You will know when the 'last straw' comes. When the Feds order all the roads into your town blocked to prevent movement, and the electricity(except to hospitals and military compounds) is turned off all TV and radio stations are silenced and you will see a Hummer with the headlights on rolling down the street. Your house will not be a safe place to be in so you might want to consider a better place to go...now. IF all weapons are banned- made a Federal offence to even possess- they will probably not come door to door as you might think so how can you shoot it without going to a Federal Prison. I have, literally, sat in on riot control briefs with FBI-BATF-ect; and that is the standing plan. Good luck if we can't save our freedom by electing people to help us. I have seen how average American citizen is in street combat. He is just like the fans at a ball game- in the stands running his mouth! I doubt if 1in 100 men in our country would fight, with firearms, unless we were under a land attack from a foreign country. Our Federal Gov't coupled by 'The News' media has the rank and file American scared to death of them. Why do you think our Government allows our News Media to say what they want? Because the bleeding heart, weak knee, gutless liberal politicans can work their magic through the News media and our Government can spread the 'word'as it see fit as well. The News Media has a saying "People tend to see the world as it is presented by us." In my opinion we should be rising up against the damn News Media a with all the mess that they stir up and then demand our elected officals vote the way we want them too! And then avoid the 'Last Straw' stuff. Respectfully, Dadduck

DadDuck,
Now why would "they" go to all that bother (restricting movement, etc.) when all they have to do is declare that you are (pick one or more) a drug dealer, a child molestor, a purveyor of child porn, a (shudder!) survivalist/gun nut/bomb maker, etc. ??
The "government" then has carte blanche and will take you out at their leisure (usually in some manner intended to make the headlines).
What is my personal last straw? That was broken quite a number of years back when the "government" chose to enforce laws which violate our Natural Rights, and chose to use violence to enforce those laws. That was some decades ago - an argument could be made for some centuries ago - but I did not realize it until a few years ago.
So why have I not headed for the hills or tried to incite rebellion, etc.? Well, mine is a measured response - meaning that I will respond in kind, delaying drastic measures until I *have* to implement them. But as far as I am concerned we are already beyond the point where I see any probability of the current trends reversing.
Possible yes, probable no. So I keep gearing up my reactions and preparations with an eye towards the inevitable outcome. I an not quite so alarmed as others who think a totalitarian regime is right around the corner (next year, next decade, whatever). I personally think this country will continue to slowly devolve in socialism at a slow but steady pace for some decades to come and that I may not even personally see complete (but almost certainly very subtle) totalitarianism and/or mobocracy - but I do believe my children/grandchildren will.
A more interesting question would be who let it go this far. The answer to that question is staring us in the mirror every morning; we are "they" and the "government".

DadDuck,
Well that is my theory anyway - that any smart regime that would want to move towards gathering power in their hands, would in the USA, be very subtle and move slowly but surely, using propaganda and character assasination rather than the more blatant frontal confrontation of sudden confiscation/martial law/etc. often proposed elsewhere. At least that is how I would do it if that were my objective - and if you look at the evidence that seems to be what is happening.
