Hello people.
Welcome to Concealed Carry Class, or, How to
Be a BadAss and Not Look Like One.

Feel free to discuss your favorite concealment methods for guns, knives, etc.,
and also any questions you might have.

Lesson #1 - The Camera Bag.....
This little gem of equipment comes often in
many designer colors and materials, and usually has a camera manufacturer's name on it. Prime consideration as it can easily
contain a small to medium frame Auto Pistol
with little effort.

I'll see you and raise you. Try a diaper bag! Especially good for those of us with kids in tow. Granted, it's not the best choice if you are looking to pick up chicks, but no one is going to steal it.

Mine has Bert and Earnie on the outside and a govt model 1911 on the inside!

I like that Mr. InBetween.

Here's another idea...The Gym Bag

and for added "effect", put afew smelly
socks, shirts, shorts, etc. in there as well.
People may search your gym bag, but not as
likely when it "smells" like a gym bag.

this sounds like a fun topic

ok heres mine --for a fixed blade knife and ready to use , stick it in a brown paper bag, with the point at the bottom of the bag and the top of the bag(opening) and knife handle in your hand, it concealed and if you need to use it then just thrust it through the bag, it aint pretty and highly illegal
but for a SHTF situation you will appear as harmless as a guy walking down the street with his lunch in hand and going to work

if you have a sawed off shotgun (illegal) or a pistol grip with 18 inch barrel shotgun try a tennis racket bag, might fit tite, but it will and with extra room on the sides to hold other stuff
i think the baseball players have a bag to hold a baseball bat that should work also
anyone see a mac-10 in a breifcase ? it fits perfect with 30 round mag, and has a lever on the bottom to pull the trigger and a hole in the breifcase to shoot out of and a small peice of paper covering the hole
also try a leather bible cover, with a handgun inside, they also make books that can hold a pistol of various sizes
some company makes a personal organizer that holds a gun
my idea was to take a first aid box and put a gun in it, makes sense to me since a gun is your FIRST AID

I have one of those stainless "North American Arms" mini revolvers in .22 short and the thing is so small that it will fit inside a empty pack of smokes. In the hard pack of coarse.

Take care, OUT in Vegas!

yes LAGunman, it is hopefully a fun topic.
your Paper Bag idea is interesting.

I have a Schrade lockback serrated knife.
it has a beltloop clip so i don't really
go to any effort to conceal it.

I do have a Tanto I got awhile back from
United Cutlery, very sharp, very nice.
Slim profile too. But gotta have deep pockets if you know
what I mean. http://www.ak-47.net/akcgi/smile.gif

BlackHawk Inc. makes afew interesting gadgets
to help you conceal extra ammo clips.
They got a forearm attached velcro pouch
that holds a pistol mag, and an ankle strap that holds 2 mags.
Just imagine, one strap on each wrist plus an
ankle pouch gives you 4 extra mags, plus the one in your
carry gun makes 5!!
now that's outstanding for SHTF, and under
long trousers/sleeves who's gonna know??

hmmm i havent seen or heard of the ankle/wrist ammo mag holders, sounds interesting
also the knife in a bag idea --i stole it from some movie i saw a while ago, i guess those moronic movies that dont know squat about guns can be helpful and give some good ideas, but on on RARE occasions
i also like the N.A.A mini revolver, they have one with a kydex holster that hangs from your neck, only bad part is the muzzle is point up towards your neck, but reach under your shirt and pull it out and thats a god lil defense gun
im gonna have to get one, but in 22 mag, add some hollowpoints and that would be sorta a "sleeper" defensive gun, some good shots in the face or neck area at close range would be pretty wicked
the other reason i HAVE to get that NAA revolver --SB15 bans all revolvers with barrel length under 3 inches --UGH
we got to get rid of davis, and im gonna be buying some pistols next year
theres goes my savings and college funds
damn you davis, you rat bastard

i think the belt buckle knife has been banned for many years now, as are many other deadly objects that are legal in other states
i guess it depends on how many scared liberals there are in your state as to what laws go into affect

i'm not too fond of BeltBuckle Knives.
i like the OSS sleeve knives that can be sewn into sleeves much better.
they can be placed just about anywhere.

i usually carry a stiletto when I go out on the town. I never look for trouble, but there are bad people out there. I'd rather have a piece and a CCW license, but I don't have one at the moment.

Last Friday I neglected to carry my my defense weapon, and a belligerent drunk got in our faces in the street. He backed down and left, but it was a reminder it's really nice to have a weapon on you whenever possible.

no CCW *shhh!!!* http://www.ak-47.net/akcgi/smile.gif

I just came up with yet another idea....

The Canteen/Thermos Holster http://www.ak-47.net/akcgi/smile.gif

Take an EMPTY Canteen or Thermos. (hehehe)
Cut out the top part, leaving at either
side an extension facing downward.
(This will help anchor the top to the
Canteen/Thermos later)

Take the bottom, punch a hole in each side of the groove you made which matches the extensions. Run a wire through these holes,
leaving the wire across the groove.

Pad the inside of the Canteen/Thermos as desired.

Now place the top back on....

The wire should hold the top in place.
If you have done well, nobody will have
CLUE#1 you are now armed.

Enjoy.....

Welcome to yet another installment
of Concealed Carry Class101....

I've been AFK for awhile, but i'm back
with a vengeance.

LESSON ...

NEVER assume that ANY weapon is 100%
concealed! If someone is expecting you
to be armed, they WILL have XRay vision.
They WILL scrutinize EVERYTHING in your
possession, right down to that pack of
smokes in the pocket of your polo shirt.

Use COMMON SENSE, and DO NOT act like
someone who is armed. You've seen people
who do act like they are armed. They
walk around favoring one side (the side
with the holster). NEVER act like this!
If you do, you WILL get killed!

By the same token, if you act as if you are unarmed, and people expect you to be unarmed, you can carry about any place. I use a Star M45, which will fit in places that are "too small to put a gun", such as a cheap fanny pack (not the gun pouches). Last time I went to Knob Creek, I drove from Florida to kentucky and back, carrying all the time, and no one paid any attention. I used the outer pocket to hold tickets, loose dollar bills (when someplace where I needed money frequently) and this sort of stuff. Even put brochures into it. Everyone assumed I had a billfold or something similar in the rear pocket.

The non-designed fanny packs are not as fast as the gun bags, but you can always offer to give them your wallet. Open the bag, grip the gun, yell something like "Cops!" and point with your free hand, and come out shooting. And if no one was watching you, keep on moving -- don't wait for thanks.

I've seen some athletes at my high school with huge bags for their crap. You could fit a shotgun/rifle if it was short enough (an AR w. collapsible stock http://www.ak-47.net/akcgi/biggrin.gif ) and some ammo.
You'd have to also have something/someone
(like a concealed handgun) to draw the enemies fire while you unpacked you weapon,
but theres enough room for plenty of full mags.

Someone hasn't mentioned the trenchcoat method yet- its rather well known, but its not a bag or anything you can have jerked away from you.

When we're moving tactically in urban areas
we wear long coats, uzis on the back, walthers in belt at the front under a shirt. pistol on the inside left leg. with all the rock fans out there, the security forces cant check every long coat.

if long coats aint your bag, then might i suggest a len dixon holster under a sweater.
in bags, you can fit anything by size constraints. be imaginative, and dont stand out

can draw and open it one handed in less than 2 sec.
razor sharp
when I need to be armed I have a gun case that looks like a day planner
Looks very unobtrusive sitting on the seat of a vehicle
can always say you are diabetic and it is your meds if anyone asks for a pen or something

In most public places I prefer a good knife. To paraphrase, a recent magazine article, a good knife fighter will prevail against a cocked and locked opponent. Not nearly as threatening or as impressive, but just a lethal and usually lots faster.

Wow, I feel positively mundane in this creative company but since I live in a state that actually believes an armed citizen prevents crime I carry a Kimber Custom full size 1911 in a Galco Concealable paddle. Damn shame it has to be concealed to as its positively dashing in Havana Brown.

Good point, I am legal to carry here also. A loose fitting shirt and a 1911A1 is just about unnoticeable on me.

Seen the Matrix?

I prefer to be outfitted like neo and his babe near the end when they rescue morphious.

Trench coats, vests, straps, legs, bags full, on the back and everywhere else! http://www.ak-47.net/akcgi/smile.gif

It would be very sweet to have that kind of stuff. Can you imagine the look on some creeps face when you open your coat to show him he wants no trouble?!

Heh, heh...
