will AR parts interchange ??

Hi all


this is my first post here and i'am new to the ARs. i plan on getting an AR soon. I was wondering if say a DPMS lower would work with an OLY upper or the other way around? Or will i have to stay with one parts kit. parts any help info on this would be great!!

Yes they will, I have a bushy lower and 2 Olys I built into kits. The uppers were purchased from different distributors (J&T, M-A parts, etc.,) Minor fitting of some lower receiver parts may be needed for the Oly receiver but not something you can't do yourself. HTH.

welcome to the board...lots of good info here...as well as other info. :)

if you're going to be putting together a AR....I would strongley advice you to get a set of GO/NO GO gauges .....or at the very least a FIELD gauge.....when you buy the bolt..a field gauge, will at least tell you that the weapons is safe to fire.

thanks for the info guys !! My DPMS lower should be here next week and i will more than likely go with the oly test fired/head spaced kit to complete the gun.
Kanewtervalve how to you like you OLYs??? i'am really leaning to their kits!

I have 2 Oly receivers which are both nice, the forged one is better looking. As far as kits, the only kit I have is the 9mm, which is very nice and shoots great, only problem is that the mag it came with didn't work(modified Sten) and the cast "plinker" receiver I bought for it would not work with it, fortunately, the forged I had on my .223 did work so I switched them. Both rifles function great. The 9mm I bought Sten mags from TAPCO and the magwell adapter made by SOCOM.

MOST ALL AR15 PARTS WILL FIT ANY OTHER COUNTER PART MFG OUT THERE

BUT WATCH OUT COLT HAS SOME LARGER TRIGGER PIN HOLES THAN SOME OTHER MFG/S OUT THERE TOO



AND SOME AR15 PARTS FIT IN THE AR10 LOWERS

kane, is the J & t products any good? They say they use a SHAW barrel on their kits. Know anything about these barrels? Thanks
