Upper Receiver Advice

I just purchased a pre-ban Olympic car-15 with an A1 upper and a commando barrel with the 5" flash suppressor. There is a lot of play in the front pivot pin, and I am planning on buying a new upper receiver or upper receiver half. The options I am exploring are A) buy a RRA UTE upper reciver and keep the Olympic barrel assembly, B) Bushmaster M-4 upper half with bolt and all the internal parts, C) Colt M-4 upper half. I guess the question I have is the Pre-Ban Olympic lower worthy enough for the Colt, or Bushmaster? I have $1,000 in the gun right now, and when I am finished with it will it be worth what I have put in it. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I looked at Olympic AR-15s when I was AR shopping and passed them up because of quality issues I was told about. It is a preban so you may be able to sell it outright for $1000.00 and buy a whole new gun. There are other Prebans out there for $1000( Colt, Armalites & Bushmasters) . I looked at a Colt preban for $1100 this past weekend. That is what I would do myself. Good luck.
P.S. Check to make sure it is the right size pin..just for the heck of it -someone might have played a cruel nonintentional joke..?
