In another thread there was discussion about how to change mags better. That was a good thread. I would have tacked this on their but I thought it wouldn't get seen at the bottom of an old and long thread.
When you charge or rack the AK my favorite technique is the, turn it on it's side and use left hand method. However my other favourite technique is to reach UNDER the rifle with it still shouldered, reaching between the new fresh mag and the grip and grab the charging handle with my palm facing me and just bend my elbow in. This works especially well from bipod/prone position
when prone. It is harder to turn the rifle on its side to charge it when it is on a bipod. Also this action brings your hand naturally right back into a good prone/shooting from bipod position.
